If you are like me and watched the Netflix series, Peaky Blinders, you enjoyed each episode and the way the characters are dressed. The 1920s and 1930s were amazing decades for fashion. To this day, we find inspiration from that era. We might not want to dress with clothes made a hundred years ago, but we can certainly draw our inspiration from it.
Take the main character Tommy Shelby played by the very talented Cillian Murphy. His three-piece suit is stylish and practical. He can work and play without worrying about what he’s wearing. Add to the suit the cap, tie, pocket watch and a pair of Chelsea boots, et voilà!
Want to dress like a Peaky $%!# Blinder without being a 1920s English gangster? Here’s what you need.
- A pale dress shirt or a striped one
- An undershirt
- A blue pinstripe or green-brown three-piece suit made of textured tweed (including a 5-6 button waistcoat, overcoat and high-waisted trousers with a tapered cuff at the ankle)
- A narrow necktie
- A pocket watch
- Suspenders(no belt)
- A tweed newsboy cap
- A pair of black lace-up brogue Chelsea boots
Et voilà! You are now ready to dress like a Peaky Blinder!
